How Images Are Used

The Random Object Generator and Random Objects to Draw tools display optional reference images alongside generated object names. These images are shown only when the user enables the “Show pictures” or “Show reference” toggle. When pictures are disabled, no image files are requested.

Image Sources

All reference images used on the production site are sourced from one or more of the following:

  • Original photography created for Rummage
  • Licensed stock photography from reputable providers
  • Public-domain or Creative Commons–licensed images used in accordance with their licence terms

Images are self-hosted and served from our own infrastructure. We do not hotlink images from search engines, social media or other websites.

Current Preview Images

The standalone preview and development versions of the tools use emoji characters as visual placeholders. These are rendered by the browser’s native emoji font and are not custom images. They will be replaced with licensed reference photographs before production launch.

AI-Generated Images

Rummage does not use AI-generated images as reference pictures. All reference images are real photographs or illustrations created by human photographers or artists.

Attribution

Where a licence requires attribution, the credit is recorded in an internal licence register linked to the object’s database record. If you believe an image has been used without proper authorisation, please contact us and we will investigate promptly.

Your Use of Images

The reference images displayed by the tools are provided for on-screen reference during the tool’s normal use. You may not download, redistribute, print for commercial purposes or use these images outside the tool without separate written permission from the rights holder.
